Clinton

Over the years this community has been known as Betters' Station, Wallace, Pine Grove and Blossberg, finally landing on its current name—Clinton. Once a hotbed for mining and lumber, the Clinton area provides a wilderness experience a few minutes drive from Missoula. With access to Beavertail Hill State Park, Welcome Creek and the Clark Fork River, outdoor lovers can explore to their hearts content. For a heart pumping activity, hike along Welcome Creek Trail—a five-mile long flat path that leads into the Welcome Creek Wilderness—and keep an eye out for the old miner's cabin along the creek.
