Located on Little Bitterroot Lake, Marion was initially used by railroad workers building the railroad line into Kalispell. Nearby is Lost Trail National Wildlife Refuge, whose diverse habitat supports various kinds of birds, as well as deer, elk, moose, black bear, lynx and wolverines.
Marion is also home to one of America's most remote breweries—Lang Creek Brewery. Located inside an airplane hanger and overlooking the Thompson River Valley, Lang Creek produces flight-themed ales.
