Situated between Whitefish and Eureka, Olney sits in the heart of the Kootenai National Forest. The surrounding wilderness houses numerous ranger stations, cabins and lookouts maintained by the US Forest Service. Many of the cabins and lookouts are available for overnight rental and provide a rustic wilderness experience, complete with stunning views.
Olney's nearby lakes—Upper Stillwater and Whitefish Lake—provide numerous water activities, including boating, canoeing and fishing.
Whitefish are found in the area's lakes and you'll find them served fresh at a handful of local restaurants.
